Strumming
Check out the strumming patterns in Garage Band lessons 1-2, and 3. Try not to use the same one all the time. Mix it up. Use them all.
Chords
The following chords should be mastered without looking at the diagrams:C A G E D. Practice going back and forth between chords A and D, slowly at first, eventually increasing the speed of the transition. Do the same with A and E, and D and E.
With these 3 chords (A E D) you can play the following songs which should be in your folder: “Three Little Birds” and “Stir It Up” by Bob Marley, ”Blues in A” from lesson 3 of Garage Band.
Practice transitioning between A and G to play the bluegrass song “Old Joe CLark”. We’ll be adding a banjo to this one.
Practice going back and forth between G, C, and D for “Sweet Home Alabama.”
